Brodie Williams visits Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre
Brodie Williams, Commonwealth and European Gold Medalist, recently visited The Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre to speak to the Shrewsbury Amateur Swimming Club to share his story and to help inspire the club members to perform at their best at upcoming events.
Brodie Williams explained “I’m proud to be able to represent Team GB and speak to the athletes of Shrewsbury swimming club on behalf of Persimmon Homes, so close to where I achieved my greatest success at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. I hope I can inspire and kick-start the Shrewsbury club to a strong year of swimming and performance. I’d like to thank Persimmon Homes for donating to this swim club; it's so important people have a local hub to learn to swim and be safe in the water. Finally, a thank you to Team GB, for choosing me for this special occasion."
Anna Fletcher at Shrewsbury Amateur Swimming Club said “It is a great privilege to have Brodie Williams from Team GB visit Shrewsbury Swimming Club to share his swimming story and to inspire our swimmers to be the best they can be. Swimming is a great sport to be involved in and Brodie is a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and self-belief and is such a positive role model to our swimmers.
