When will Whitchurch Swimming & Fitness Centre be open?

We are pleased to confirm that all being well, we will open on Wednesday 19th March 2025.

What is available at Whitchurch Swimming & Fitness Centre?

We have a 25m, 6 lane pool which ranges from 1m to 1.8m depth. There is a 50 station gym and two group exercise studios

What sort of classes will we have?

We’re still confirming our group exercise timetable, but expect to see all the usual favourites, pilates, yoga, aqua fit, legs bums & tums, HIIT, circuits, indoor cycling and many more. We are also loading our timetable with some virtual FIIT classes – brand new to our Shropshire Leisure Centres.

Can I use my membership at any of the other Shropshire Leisure Centres?

Absolutely! You can book any sessions permitted by your membership at any one of our other leisure centres, these include: The Quarry Swimming & Fitness Centre, Oswestry Leisure Centre, Market Drayton Swimming & Fitness Centre, Shrewsbury Sports Village and SpArC Bishop’s Castle Leisure Centre.

Are there specific sessions for swimming?

Lane swimming – a fully laned session for swimming up and down. Swimming for all – an open pool, available to all. Family Fun – as swimming for all, but with floats and lively music. See our extensive timetable for days and times.

Will I be able to receive an induction into the gym?

You certainly will. We’re employing a full time health & fitness coach to show you the ropes! Check out our fitter faster programmes for more information

Is there a café?

Hot drinks are available from our Rijo coffee machine and vending machines will be filled with healthy snacks and treats. Space is available in our foyer to relax before or after your workout or during swimming lessons.

Can I host my birthday party at Whitchurch Swimming & Fitness Centre?

You certainly can! The pool is available to hire, we can provide a party host, floats and fun. Even the foyer area and community room are there to host a little cake and drinks after the big event. Register your interest at our website for more information.

How can I make a booking?

All bookings will be live for 19th March, which members and pay as you go customers will be able to make either via the website here or via our free My MORE App, which can be downloaded at https://www.morefitness.app/. In order to make a booking via the website or the app you will need to register your membership for an online account, which you can do so via the website when you go to make a booking much closer to the transfer date. You can find helpful instructions on how to do this at https://morefitness.app/frequently-asked-questions/

Please note you will not be able to book anything until 10 days before your class or session if you’re a member, or 7 days before for a pay as you go member.

Will I have a membership card?

As part of our commitment to the environment we would encourage all members to use the My MORE App instead of a membership card. Within the My MORE App you can add your membership number to generate your member barcode, which can be scanned at the turnstile to access the centre. Any existing membership cards will no longer be active, so all members will need to register for the My MORE App to get their membership barcode for centre access.

Do pay as you go users need a membership?

All pay as you go members and activity bookers will require a membership to use our facilities. In order to access our centres on a pay-as-you-go or casual booking basis, you will need a free MORE Membership. Our complimentary MORE Membership gives casual customers who use our facility for things such as court hire and casual swimming a host of member benefits with no formal contract. With a free MORE Membership, you'll be able to access all the features on our My MORE App - from booking into classes & activities online, card-free centre access, tracking your workouts and gaining reward points to redeem in the centre and more!

Will there be swimming lessons?

If you would like to sign-up yourself or your child for swimming lessons for the first time you will be able to do so from 1st March by visiting one of our friendly team members at the centre or completing the online form. You can register your interest here on the online form ahead of 1st March to make sure you’re the first in the queue to secure yours, or your little ones’ lesson.

When will swimming lessons begin?

We aim to have our lessons starting on Monday 24th March.
