Shrewsbury teenager represents England in the Rugby Six Nations
Natalee Evans, a Shrewsbury Sports Village member, has represented England in the Rugby Six Nations this year, making a life-long dream come true.
Natalee's rugby journey began in Hong Kong at the age of 9, playing for her local club with friends. As she developed through the pathway, Natalee secured a spot on the Under 14s Hong Kong National Age Grade Team, which started her passion for competitive rugby. Relocating to England in 2018, she joined Shrewsbury Rugby Club where she was able to continue developing her talents.
Despite the challenges faced by Covid, Natalee persevered, maintaining her fitness by running regularly, making home workouts and going to the Rugby Club for a kick about with her Dad.
Her dedication paid off when she caught the eye of talent scouts at Worcester Warriors Rugby Camps, earning her a place at the prestigious Worcester Warriors Centre of Excellence.
Representing the U18s North Midlands team, she was given the opportunity to join England Rugby U18s Training Camps and subsequently earned her spot in the England U18s Squad, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey.
From her debut against Wales in Rugby's 200th anniversary to her participation in the U18s Six Nations, Natalee's ascent in the rugby world showcases her talent, determination, and unwavering commitment to the sport.
Natalee explained "I feel unbelievably lucky to have represented my country in a sport that I love - playing for England at U18s has been a massive dream come true and I hope that I can reach my dream of playing for England U20s and the senior team."
"The gym at Shrewsbury Sports Village is perfect for me. The kit in there means I’m able to stick to my fitness programme and continue to reach my goals and I’d like to thank the team for their continued support.
